Her family was full and happy. She got marriage when she was 24. It was nothing to worry about. However, She felt that something was wrong. One time She woke up, prepared the dishes, prepared herself for meeting with father. She went out from home and walked along the road. She saw a guy, so beatiful and young. She look straight to his eyes and he respond: ''Fake''. What did it mean? She closed her eyes for a while and then, when She opened them noone was there. It felt so strange. She came to her dad. There was nice sunny lit room with old teapot, plates and cups. They were drinking, when She closed her eyes and remembered about this man from the street. She said: ''Fake'', straight to her dad. However, his eyes were empty, he heard this. One second and he started to cry. When She tried to ask him and find out, what happenned he only responded: I love you so much. It was strange day for her. Something could not leave her alone. Some thought or maybe eve

Reflection: Mystery of Leicester

Image
In previous lessons, I was completing my Photography Project. I was inspired by Thomas Struth and his photos of Dusseldorf. So, I tried to take photos in his style. To create photos, which I will like I had to work with Photoshop to make them in black & White.  I almost did not have any problems with naming my photos, because I already created a concept for my project in my mind. However, sometimes I had troubles with names, because nothing come to my mind.  I was pleased with the composition and frame in Flourishing. I wanted to show how spring comes to Leicester with all beauty of the trees and flowers. In the middle stands a church that usually looks menacing and gothic. However, in my photo, it is surrounded by nature, which is a sign of blossoming. A sign that spring has come.  Flourishing   If you’re talking about my The Way in Nowhere, this photo came from a little experiment. Usually, I take a photo holding the camera exactly straight, without unnecessary deviations. Completing the Collection: Urban Landscape 2- Mistery of Leicester

Image
Finally, when I did Class Photoshoot and self-study, I can upload all my favorite pictures to my website. But firstly I have to think aboutfirst the frame. To be more clear, I will put my pictures on canvas.  I opened Photoshop with my pictures and copied it by clicking on the Move Tool and 'Select-All'. Then I clicked on 'Edit-Copy'. That is how I copied my image.  Then, I pushed the File-New buttons and choose print A3. After that, I clicked on Edit-Paste. That is how I got my picture on the canvas.  I completed all images like this and moved to web site part.  I created a new sub page called 'Mistery of Leicester' as I want to call my project. Then, I moved to 'Add section-Gallery' options. Here, I chose 'Slider Gallery' as almost all my photos have vertical orientation.  My next step was adding my photos to the website. I deleted all photos that were in this Slider and uploaded mine.  My last action was putting the heading and paragraph that

Urban Landscape Quality Control & Curation

Image
Last lesson I took some shots of Urban Landscape. In this post, I will do Quality Control and Curation. Checking My Image   The first step was to check the quality of my image. To do this, I opened Photoshop and uploaded my first image which I picked previously from the whole range of photos that I made in the previous lesson. I clicked on the View-Actual Size buttons to make my image bigger. Then, I clicked on the Hand Tool button in the menu on the left side in order to move my image around and check the quality of every detail. I checked my image for different blemishes, dust or spots that could be blurry. Finally, when I did all of these checking steps, I was sure that I chose the right photo. So, I returned the original size of the photo by clicking on the View-Fit on Screen buttons and moved to another step.  If my image was not bad, but a bit blurry I used Unsharpen Mask by clicking on the Filter-Sharpen-Unsharpen Mask.  Crop&Straighten  Most of my images should be straighte

Urban Landscape 2 Self Study

Image
After our photoshoot in class, I decided to go for a walk and took my camera. I wanted to catch and put a spring atmosphere in the photos. Firstly, I was inspired by Thomas Struth, as you remember from the previous posts. However, his photos convey an atmosphere of rigour, where every detail has its meaning. That day, I was in a cheerful, joyful mood, so I wanted to capture it in the images, which you can see below.  Firstly, you can look at my Contact Sheet from the self-study.  This is maybe my favorite image. I like everything about it. Probably, I would lower the exposure in the settings to make the colors more intense. But I really like the way the colors interact with each other in this photo. I also like the composition itself. The trees with flowers and green leaves transmit this air of a sunny spring day.     I’m not really a fan of this picture. I love that warm sunlight comes into contact with a dark blue cloud. However, there is something repulsive about this photo for me.

Michael Wolf: Architecture of Density (2012)

Image
In today's post, I would want to present you with a German Urban photographer who is Michael Wolf. He and his Architecture of Density(2012) are a breath of fresh air for me in the world of Urban Photography. He did not try to make a perfect image with the beautiful landscapes of the city. In his Architecture of Density(2012) he represents Hong Kong as the place where people actually live. The paradox is that people are absent from the photos. In this series, only one-size buildings are depicted in the pictures. However, in Wolf's photographs, the people are unseen, but on more careful investigation, but their existence is noticeable everywhere- in the colored curtains, the clothesline with wet hanging laundry, and the scaffolding with the hanging sheets. (O'Hagan, 2019) The photo below is an example of the thoughts above. The image depicts the usual building in Hong Kong with plenty of floors, flats, and rooms. Yes, we can't see people there, but if we focus on this pic

Thomas Struth: Düsseldorf

Image
Talking about a number of pictures that were taken in Düsseldorf by Thomas Struth, it is possible to say at a glance that they are just ordinary aesthetic pictures. However, Struth was one of the few photographers to capture a snapshot of his city in the process of all the renovations built during hard times. He photographed ordinary streets and thus was able to document the emergence of post-war urban structures in Germany (Hak, 2017).  Struth’s photographs are not ordinary pictures, they are historically important images, as they contain a piece of history. He shows it like it is, without hiding anything.  This photo, for example, shows how Germany has changed in historical terms. In the country, multi-story new houses are under construction. Costs a lot of cars, which shows the financial ability of people to buy them. Everything looks neat, clean, and well-maintained. The photograph looks insanely symmetrical as if everything was set up just to take a picture.  Thomas Struth  Somme

Creative Media Production: Urban Landscape Photography Two

Image
The previous week we had Photography in our Creative Media Production class. We talked about famous photographers in the field related to the topic 'Urban Landscape' such as Thomas Struth, Michael Wolf, and others. Most of all, I was inspired by the work of Thomas Struth. That is why, I decided to take some pictures, which will be with some atmosphere as in Thomas Struth's photos. 'Something strange happens when one becomes involved with the work of Thomas Struth. In looking at and studying this photography one becomes more and more convinced of its sincerity and truth...'(Steiner, 2009) Wagnerstrasse Düsseldorf Made by Thomas Struth 1979 During the whole photo shoot, I was thinking about my frame and composition. I tried to take balanced shots. I took all my photos in color. However, I am going to change them to White & Black in Photoshop. "I wanted to make photographs in which everything was so complex and detailed that you could look at them forever and

Ana Mendieta: Silueta series

Image
As I missed the lesson with Trace Task, I am going to do some self-study to catch up on what I missed. However, to do it as good as possible I have to do research on photographers who did similar photoshoots to my topic.  In this particular post, I want to share with you my research on the art of Ana Mendieta and her Silueta Series, which is made from 200 silhouettes.  'My art is the way I re-establish the bonds that unite me to the universe. It is a return to the maternal source. Through my earth/body sculptures, I become one with the earth'. (Mendieta, 1981)  Ana Mendieta successfully shows her connection with nature, with earth, and with everything that surrounds us in the natural environment. In the photo below, she presents herself as a part of nature. When I look at  Siluetas (Image from Yagul, 1973) only one message comes to my mind:  'When I die, I will be one or a million of these beautiful flowers'.  'Ana Mendieta’s experimentation with the self, throu

Research on Target Market

Image
In my last class, I created a video that was meant to promote me professionally. In addition, I did a targeted search, because when you make a video, you have to understand the audience that’s going to watch it. In another language, I looked up ads from various companies for the PR manager position. In this particular post, I would want to share my results and thoughts about it.  I was searching for the most suitable job on websites such as Indeed and Linkedin . On Linkedin , I found a job opening for a PR manager. If be more clear, the position is called Communication Assistant, which is perfect for my degree. I would want to work in fashion industry, so this ad caught my eye. Since the company is called Vivienne Westwood and belonged to a famous designer who is Vivien Westwood, I would be very happy to work there and immerse myself in the atmosphere of fashion and design.  To apply for this job I have to check what I have to do during working on this position. The ad specified t
