Free Project: Technical Research
Since my free project is mobile photography, I decided to do a study on technical tips for improving shooting. In this post, I will share my results. For the project I will use my phone iPhone 11, so here will be the results associated with this type of phone.
- Usage of gridlines to balance shot-Usage of different angles and lines
Since my photo shoot is not subject to strict frames, I want to experiment over different angles, tilting the camera in different directions, to create an unusual effect.
- Repetitive pattern
Repetitive elements are quite pleasing to the ordinary eye. I want to do repetitive elements by working with reflections, different techniques, and editing.
-Creating abstracts
To make my series of photos interesting to look at, I will work on the contrast of light and color. Thanks to special color filters for the camera I want to achieve a contrast that will be interesting to observe.
-Burst Mode
This is a function where you can take a clear picture in motion. I opened my camera and swiped the shutter button to the left to do this.
-Work with light
'The flash can help emphasize shade, make colors brighter, and add other nifty effects—experiment by taking one photo with the flash, then one without'. (Puet, 2023) Working with light is almost the most important part of my work. I’m going to try different ways to work with a color lamp, color filters for light, a regular ring lamp, and a normal flash on my phone. I want to create an extravaganza of different colors and a celebration of light.-Using different equipment
Multicolored glass and vases are what can become a cool lens and give the photograph the desired unusual effect. In the form of tripod vases, you can use a stack of books or even a mug. As decoration can be ordinary furniture.
- Panning
Panning is a photographic technique that combines a slow shutter speed with camera motion to create a sense of speed around a moving object. (Discovery Center Team) To create an effect of panning I used Lightroom, where I could put the right settings. From my photography classes, I found out that this is important to shutter my speed below 1/60 to create this effect.
