Software Testing: Canva

 In previous posts, I tested various software that could be used to create the Flip Book. In this particular post, I will be testing Canva, an application that helped me create a cover for my magazine article. 

First, I opened the website and registered using my email. Next, I started to look for the right template by pressing the button 'Doc' and searching for the Magazine Article template. 






On the photo below, you can see what picture I chose. I chose it, because I liked the structure, the composition of colors and even the font. 




In order to improve the cover, I deleted all the text that was there and pasted the one that describes my project. 



My last step was that I changed the background picture at the top by downloading the right image from the Internet. Then I deleted the previous image and pasted a new one. However, I had to edit it to make the text look good, not to merge with the background and it could be read. Below are the settings I applied to the photo. 



This is my result of working with Canva. 



Reflection:

Canva is one of my favorite software. It was very easy and interesting to use. Everything was clear. I made the cover in literally 10 minutes. There are a huge number of different structures, elements and designs, as well as interesting fonts and convenient use of the editor for photos.

Ira Cohen: The Mylar Series

In today’s post, I would like to share with you the work of Ira Cohen, which is a source of inspiration for me and my free project. Ira Cohen’s most iconic works are his Mylar images which he created in the late '60s in his loft on the Lower East Side, New York City. (October Gallery, no date) What I love most is the way the photographer works with shapes, light, and color. Ira Cohen's artistic practice involved capturing images using a polyester film surface technique called mylar. This technique produced photographs that showcased distorted figures and mirrored shapes, creating an illusionary effect within his art. Further research: Harlow Gale

  As my continuation root is Media with Communication, I chose a project called ''The Psychological Influence of Advertisement''. In order to make my project as good as possible, I decided to do some research on different people who are related to the Marketing sphere and are or were successful in it. In this post, I would like to share some information about a person like Harlow Gale.  Harlow Sterns Gale(June 29, 1862, Minneapolis) was a professor of psychology at the University of Minnesota and a municipal officer for the city of Minneapolis. He is known for his advanced training in advertising from its psychological side.
